I promised - or threatened with - to scribble down my thoughts on the new James Bond movie, so here we go. ;)
In short: I loved it.
And in detail... The new Bond: I was one of those who peered at Daniel Craig with scepticism, even though I'm not a huge or even a normal fan of the Bond series. But I think he's more than proved fitting for the role. I like his Bond, that he - as takayajd put it - is no Superman, tougher, edgier, not perfect. At the same time witty and charming. (The sequence where he's chasing the first man with the bomb? That bad guy that's hopping about like a bunny? Loved how that human toad elegantly jumped around and over barriers and Bond just ran through.)
Vesper Lynd: Eva Green looks stunning all the time! And being no expert I think her acting was great. She's the first Bond Girl (or rather woman) that I really cared about, that wasn't just a pretty sidekick (not even Halle Berry managed that in my opinion). She really felt equal to Bond while they didn't have to turn her into a leather clad modern Xena. Loved the shower scene.
The movie was all in all very entertaining and kept me interested until the end. The twists were nice, though there's what I didn't like: The change of the main bad guy inbetween. They established Le Chiffre through most of the movie and then he gets shot just like that and you see that he wasn't the main villain. The problem is that you barely see the new bad guys, which makes the fight in Venice a bit tiring to watch, cause it's difficult to tell whom Bond is thrashing right now. Loved the bitter ending and his last lines, though.


I definately liked it enough to make icons out of it, so here we go ;).

Adore the icons, especially 2, 8, 9, 11.

It doesn't sound like they revealed the adversary in a cunning way. I've seen that element of plot before that worked beautifully.

I'm also looking forward Casino Royale although I actually dislike the other James Bond movies. But I liked the previews and also heard the "Do I look like I give a damn?" part in the radio while driving the car with a friend and we both bursted out laughing.. tehee. This is why I'd like to take icon no.8 if you don't mind. :]
Plus from what I've heard the women have a more interesting role plus a brain and don't all faint at first sight of James Bond. This has always been one of the main reasons why I don't like the older films. ;)
And you have a good taste so I guess it will be worth to watch the film. :)

He was, they way he looked after Le Chiffre sort of foreshadowed it. Still it would've been nicer if he'd been present throughout the whole movie.

For some reason, after your review and watching some clips from the movie...I changed my opinion about the guy playing Bond. (i wrote Blond twice o.O?) He's a different taken on James Bond I suppose. And he is a great actor, my initial 'concern' was that he didn't have the looks to be 007.

Can you believe that it was a dream that changed me from being slightly curious into 'OMG, I have to see it!'? lol He's definately a good actor and as you say, he has a different take. After all, it's the early Bond, and some say while he doesn't have much in common with Pierce Brosnan for example he gets close to the Connery Bond.

The only Bond movie i saw at the cinema was Tomorrow Never Dies but i didn't like Pierce Brosnan's interpretation. I was a Sean Connery girl *lol*..he was the best. But i have to admit i kinda like Daniel Craig and i'm going to see this movie. Also i really like Eva Green. :)
